My first big sale…

Waterville

I’ll show you two of the landscapes I’ve paint in 2000 or 2001 (well, 8 years since then… that’s a lot of time gone away)…

The first one is a Waterville landscape and the second one is on the way to Waterville… I was working and, for a time, living there (Waterville is a small industrial town, about 1/2 hour ride from Sherbrooke). I had a lousy, musty appartment, earth level, not very expensive (but a lot more expensive it was worthing…) 5 minutes from the workshop where I was “sabling” wood boards 8 h a day… It was a pretty hard time in my life… trying to stay afloat, to pay the bills and such… getting a separation… away from my kids and such… I was quite depressed but painting kept me relatively sane. The first landscape I left as guaranty for 1/2 month rent to my owner, in the summer 2004 (never was able to get it back). The second one is my first “big” sale: the first painting I’ve actually SOLD for 500 $. I know, that’s not exactly a Picasso price, but for me it was great! A lady bought it from a show I participate in 2006 (La Grande Viree Artistique de l’Estrie) together with another one, a 9′ x 12′ nude (250$). That summer I really had hopes that one day I’ll be able to live (ar at least ameliorate my living) selling my work… But the lady bought some of my best stuff for a price and then simply quit buying… That’s the way things are…

—————————————

  1. So lovely. I don’t understand why you don’t sell more. You should be a wealthy man, as beautifully as you paint.

  2. I don’t understand either, Moonbeam, and thanks! And yes, I should be a wealthy man but then you should also, as beautiful as you write… and it seems we are neither…

frumoase tablouri ! “ai fost in mina”…

Ii doresc toate cele bune. Ca si noua, de altfel…

  6. Noi n-am fi putzoi daca am fi nascutzi in 1972-73? As vrea io! Ma bucur ca nu asa de ocosh… In definitv, prefer sa am sentimente pozitive…

  8. Ok, ne introducem…
