Running free horses…

It was 1983 or 1984. I was teaching history and such in a village called Valea Mare (Big Valley), over the hill from Intorsura Buzaului (which is considered the Coldest place in Romania). This was what I’ve seen, one snow day: two horses running free. The way I wish I could… And since they were gone in a glimpse all I could do was take a picture of them… One day maybe I’ll paint after this…

Running free

  1. A strange and memorable picture, Danu. How could you have had your camera ready?

  2. oh, this photo is just one of the 4-5 I took then (and the best one). My camera was always ready… even know I take a camera with me almost everywhere… but now I used it a lot less often…

  6. What a wonderful photo, Danu!
And the first thing I thought myself was “One should make a painting out of it!”
I see the painting, black & white, in china ink, on structured watercolour paper… how do YOU see it?

  7. Thanks, Miki! I like too this photo but I see it more like a large acrylic with white and blue snow effect and the horses sienna brulee and caffee au lait…

Dar, in rest, e cum spui…

  9. That is a beautiful picture, the contrast and movements of the horses like the women in Dance, by Matisse.

  10. Thanks, anangeli! It’s just luck and a camera at hand… well, a bit of instant composition of the image, maybe, too…

  11. Valea Mare…

Eu sunt in Quebec…
